Sexual Addiction
My first speciality is in the field of compulsive sexual behaviors, or sexual addiction as it is often known. I treat sexual addiction through development of the sense of self. In my experience, I have found that addiction stems from unidentified and unexpressed emotions often due to traumatic life experiences, or perceived traumatic life experiences. Through processing these experiences and increasing emotional connection the brain and body is able to decrease the need for triggers and cravings for the addiction. This is the method I have utilized with most of my clients and have seen success as they overcome their addiction and reconnect with the people who are important to them, that they often have lost or grown isolated from because of their addiction.
